#3. Make sure the doll is original if that's what it has been advertised as. This can be difficult to check online and that's why buying through platforms such as Ebay are great in that you are protected in many areas from purchasing a dud.

#4. Also, buying the complete original doll and by complete we mean it has it's original clothing intact can be important. It depends how badly you want it but inexperienced collectors should be aware that replacing parts and clothing can be expensive. hey people I know this is a dumb question but does anybody know any barbie without those big heads?

see the thing is im only 16 , i still like barbie but i've already bought my family a whole bunch of presents except my little cousins. When I walked into Toys R Us of times square i didnt really like many of those barbies there because of their giant heads im not talking about the myscene dolls or bratz im talking about the fashion fever ones. does anyone know any names of barbie dolls with the belly button bodies ( i think you know which ones ) and that dont have giant heads because those dolls really scared me. please answer because i need to go shopping by tommorrow through the end of this week since i like shopping early.

Sady as Barbie has evolved so has her body proportions. I hate it as well.

The only dolls I could suggest would be Barbies made before 2004-2005 which is about the time I noticed her head size increasing.

I think I know what you mean by "belly button bodies " The line I would reccommend is the ORIGINAL Cali Girl Line. (2005)

he reason I say ORIGINAL is because I worked in a toy store around that time, and in the middle of the Cali Line, they re-vamped Barbie. Mattel re-released the Cali Girl line and that's when I noticed the bigger head and feet. You can tell the older Cali Girl Barbies because the dolls are packaged singularly with no extra accessories. Also Blaine's (Barbie new boyfried) box says Cali Girl - When the re-did the line his box said CALI GUY. the newer Cali Girl Boxes are wider and come with extra accessories like ear peircing and stuff.

Anyways, Any of the Barbies made in 2004 and before will be safe.

You may be able to find old store stock of older Barbies in your local area, but since you said you were in Times Square, I'm assuming you are living in or near NYC, which has a large poplulation, so finding old store stock is hard.

You could also try ebay. Many people sell New in Box items on ebay.
